Winston Churchill wrote-”Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” How is your attitude today in JROTC? Attitude is more then just how some people see other people in our battalion. It’s the way we attack the things that we do. If we approach things with the wrong attitude our battalion suffers for it. It’s all to easy to display a negative attitude toward the cadets who are in charge and also to the requirements we are supposed to have as leaders. Leadership is about responsibility and taking charge. It’s not about pointing fingers and laying blame. Remember one of the principals of leadership: Seek responsibility and TAKE responsibility for your actions. Don’t be part of the problem-be a POSITIVE part of the solution.
The next few weeks are going to be full of the things that we need to be doing to get ready for the formal inspection. If you are asked to help, do just that-HELP! Remember “I am because WE are.” Our battalion will pass — or fail — based on your involvement and the kind of attitude you have toward each other and yourself. I am very proud of what you have done at Nokomis and in JROTC. I ask that you continue to do the best that you can. You can all be proud of the accomplishments of the Nokomis JROTC program. Continue to work hard to make sure we remain the best.
ON THE WAY!
