Well here we go. The National Color Guard will host a BBQ chicken dinner on the 7th of Aug. 2009. The event will be held at the Newport American Legion Hall from 4PM till 7PM. Cost is $5.00 a Plate. Also a big bake sale will be going on at the same time same place. All funds will go towards helping the National Color Guard on the quest for a National Title in Daytona Fl. next May.

Summer Camp
Tuesday, July 14th, 2009What a time at camp. 9 cadets left on the 21 June to Camp Johnson, Vt. . A great time was had by all. The cadets from Nokomis led the way in all areas. Proving this Cadet Maj. Audrey Sylvester was ranked number two, with the award of Commandant award winner. Cadet Maj Nicole Pedone was ranked number 3 with the winning of the Esprit a Corps award. Other cadets that received awards was Cadet SSG Cody Thompson for the best in rope bridge, and best platoon. But now we move on for Corrina days the cadets from the JROTC received high praise for all of the work for the town. It was stated that the day would not have happened if not for the cadets. Next comes Summer fest on the 18 of July, and again cadets are in charge of the day, come by and enjoy the day. Please check out the photos on the page with more to come, from a proud 1SG.
