For the days of September 15th-26th, a penny war has taken place to raise money to assist families in heating homes this winter. In all, $1,091 was raised for this cause and will be going to the Corinna Heating Assistance Program. This money was raised together by three schools, Nokomis, Corinna Elementary and Newport Elementary. The Corinna Elementary raised $455.27, and Nokomis raised $543.88, while Newport Elementary raised $91.85.
This money will be donated on Thursday at 2:00. Hopefully next year we can strive for a higher goal to help others in a time of need. Thank you to all who contributed to this cause.
